Where to install a fabric pendant light?
Every room in the house can have a beautiful fabric ceiling light installed. However, depending on the room you choose, some materials will be more suitable than others, depending on the type of decoration and the desired level of brightness.
- In the bedroom: Whether it is a child's or parent's bedroom, a round, hexagonal, or spotlight-shaped geometric pendant light works very well. The idea is mainly to direct the light either towards the head of the bed when you want to read to create accent lighting, or to create a cosy atmosphere with general lighting. To help you achieve this, a dimmable bulb can be fitted into the socket of your pendant light, or a tinted glass bulb can be used if the fabric is light-coloured.
- In the living room: Fabric pendant lights for the living room are often very stylish and enhance the surrounding decor. Alongside beautiful wall lights or bedside lamps, a wired lamp will look great, especially if it features a finely crafted polyester or linen lampshade (for a raw, natural look). It will provide optimal lighting as well as a beautiful soft glow. Furthermore, polyester is an easy-care synthetic material. As for linen, a dry cloth is more suitable. Depending on the size of your living space, you can choose between a large pendant light or a smaller model.
- In the kitchen: Given potential splashes and ambient moisture, a kitchen pendant light should be chosen in a material such as synthetic fabric, which offers a distinctly modern look, but above all durability and ease of care. The idea is to provide functional general lighting, whether above a dining table or worktop. However, be sure to consider the ceiling height so you do not bump into it, unless your model has an adjustable height.
- In the bathroom: In addition to glass lights or black wrought-iron chandeliers, you can opt for a modern fabric chandelier, recreating an industrial or Scandinavian style by varying the colour! Here too, the idea is to create white or warm light, depending on whether you are getting ready or taking a relaxing bath. A dimmer switch is a welcome addition in this type of environment!

Natural fibres:
- Linen: A natural and especially traditional material, this natural fabric has many advantages, such as softly filtering the light and ageing elegantly over time.
- Burlap: With its rustic and somewhat exotic look, burlap provides warm lighting and a muted atmosphere. Be sure to fit a glass shade around the bulb so as not to burn this authentic fabric!
- Silk: A fine, luxurious material, it diffuses the light emitted by the LED bulb with a fluid drape and delicate translucency. A silk pendant light is ideal for a hallway!
Synthetic fibres:
- Polyester: Light-resistant and non-deforming, it is a sensible choice for those on a limited budget who want to get the best possible value for money!
- PVC: Its waterproof nature and high resistance to moisture make PVC pendant lights and ceiling lights perfect for installation in a bathroom, such as the crystal pendant light. You can choose from models in a variety of colours!
