The feather ceiling light: An airy and charming look!
Feather lights are timeless. They add a lovely light and timeless touch to a bedroom ceiling. What's more, they can be made from multiple types of feathers to give them a variety of looks, and in various colors (brown, red, silver, matte black...) achieved by spraying acrylic paint (for a rigid faux plumage) or by spraying.
What style for my feather ceiling light?
In contemporary art deco, feather ceiling light designers have created various shapes of feather ceiling lights that fit into any interior design style!
The most popular recessed light with feathers is generally made of real or faux white ostrich feathers, which are long and full. It is the ideal ceiling light for a minimalist, sleek Scandinavian-style interior. Depending on the size of the room, it can be larger or smaller.
-
For spaces under 20m², we recommend a feather ceiling light with a diameter of around 35 centimeters. This is enough to spread a light flux through each room where you install its base. The feathers should be short and numerous to create a full and warm design as well as accent lighting.
-
For spaces over 20m², we recommend a lovely recessed chandelier model of around 50 square centimeters. This size allows the light flux to be distributed harmoniously throughout the bedroom or your living room.
Where to place my feather light?
With its modern design creating a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, this style of ceiling light fits into living spaces such as:
-
Your living room
-
A bedroom
-
Your entryway
To let everyone know they are entering a calm and comfortable area. It is truly a unique piece of interior decoration.
Especially if the plumage of the ceiling light is white, it contrasts even more with the warm white light it emits!
Be careful of children who might be tempted to grab the decoration! Therefore, make sure to place your pendant light at a ceiling height of at least 2.30 meters.
What shape for my feather ceiling light?
As for the shape and materials, you will find plenty to choose from in our complete range of pendant chandeliers and recessed lights! Our customers generally love feather-metal or feather-glass combinations.
This is why you will find in our collection ceiling light models with a gold brass or bronze base in an industrial style, with horizontal iron rods holding feathers attached to each. This creates a stunning atmosphere that diffuses the brightness of your LED bulb even further!
We also have transparent blown glass ceiling lights in stock, resembling a globe pendant, with a socket to screw in an E14 base bulb. Around the glass shade is a superb plumage!
For more minimalist styles, we also have short-feather ceiling light models, with an opening at the bottom to let the light flux pass through. This creates a cozy feeling within your interior lighting. These ceiling lamp models are ideal in places requiring focused lighting, such as over a coffee table or dining table.
Finally, in addition to glass or metal ceiling lights with feathers, modern plastic styles such as translucent polyester are more affordable. Their rounded, rectangular, or square look can also be covered with a beautiful openwork plumage that lets the LED light through, as well as fine hanging tassels. This creates very light fixtures that are easy to install and transport!
Avoid installing your feather ceiling light in these places!
The kitchen and bathroom are respectively damp rooms and/or grease splashes are frequent. To prevent your shade from deteriorating over time, especially if the feathers are fine, we recommend avoiding these rooms. Unless you have opted for an inexpensive ceiling light made of wood or metal that reproduces feather patterns!
What lighting for ceiling lights with feathers?
Generally, electrical wires are not recommended near a dry and flammable material such as a feather. Incandescent bulbs and halogen bulbs are also strongly discouraged. They emit heat and can therefore burn your recessed light. LED bulbs or compact fluorescent bulbs are preferable. What's more, the low-energy technology of an LED light will save you a lot of electricity!
