The rattan wall light: nature on the wall of your home!

Want a natural and bohemian atmosphere directly in your living room or bedroom? Rattan is a very popular decorative style nowadays, but its arrival in Western homes and apartments is not that long ago! The 70s saw an explosion of this interior decoration, both in the indirect lighting of every room in the house and as freestanding decor, or as chairs. So it is not really a modern design. But in this text, we are going to focus on the beauty of this natural wood from an Asian palm tree! Installing a beautiful wall light made from this light and warm material will create a tropical and minimalist atmosphere within your interior. And you know what? We offer a wide range of this type of lighting!

What type of rattan wall light to buy?

It is a matter of taste, but still, lighting fixtures such as table lamps and rattan pendant wall lights appeal because of their light brown or darker brown design depending on the shade, as well as their openwork style. It is particularly this last point that is most appealing, because it lets the light peek through by diffusing a soft, indirect light that does not dazzle. Then, all kinds of shapes can be chosen depending on the square footage of your living space. A small row of wall spotlights in your living room will be preferable if it is small, and some larger wall lamps in proportion can perfectly fit into a large hallway or a loft-style Mediterranean living room.  In this case, customers generally like to choose models with globe-shaped shades, with a powerful bulb of about 3,000 lumens.

To summarize, what we love about rattan lamps is their decorative woven patterns that create plays of shadow on the wall!

How to maintain and extend the life of a rattan wall light?

- Like all fine wood lighting fixtures, we recommend not placing it as an outdoor wall light. Indeed, elements such as rain and strong wind can alter its color (if your wall spotlight is painted).

- Also, damp rooms such as the bathroom or possibly the garage should not have a base containing a rattan wall light installed. Water vapor can penetrate the fibers and cause the lamp to swell. But if you really want to treat yourself to a woven-material bathroom wall light, then protect your light fixtures with a coat of varnish. Also, make sure to choose a bulb with an IP44 protection rating so that your LED does not malfunction.

- Dust the wall light using a feather duster or a dry cloth to remove dust. We recommend avoiding damp sponges. Especially if water happens to seep into a wooden living room wall light whose bulb is not waterproof.

What lighting power for my wooden wall light?

The advantage is that the openwork pattern of these lighting fixtures softens the light intensity. You can therefore choose a halogen or compact fluorescent bulb with neutral lighting, it will be softened by the woven fibers. Otherwise, we recommend buying a lamp with a color temperature dimmer, as well as its remote control, to prevent any discomfort.

Material combinations with a rattan wall light!

We love offering for sale from our wide range of collection, lamps containing a metal-wood or glass-wood mix. This allows to create a soft and successful hybridization between industrial and Scandinavian styles, or even southern depending on the color nuances.

Here are a few examples of contemporary lighting fixtures that offer an aesthetic result, and great visual comfort:

- The wall light with a chrome metal base, with a dark rattan shade: This type of lighting fixture fits well in a bedroom as a reading light, or in a living room near a coffee table. Indeed, the LED lighting will be indirect because the light flow will pass through the interwoven fibers. The metal part offers a retro vintage look that we love!

- A wall light with a wrought iron base, frosted glass LED bulb and wooden shade: It is a design conducive to softness and relaxation! Ideal for decorating the bedroom and allowing rest. You can also place it in a dining room. On such a model, the bulb will have a fairly powerful number of watts, in order to compensate for the "light-blocking" effect of the white glass.

 - A small conical and minimalist wall light, with rattan lighting that lets the light flow from top to bottom: It is a very contemporary style that fits very well in a modern universe like a newly renovated apartment. The advantage is that you will not be dazzled! Provided that you install the wall lamp at a height corresponding to a third of the wall height, i.e., above your eyes.
