Which fabric wall light should you choose?
There are 2 types of fabrics, meeting various criteria for atmosphere, budget, and long-term durability.
Synthetic fibres
Polyester: The ultimate modern material, polyester is a rigid and highly durable synthetic fabric used to create both clothing and designer lighting. It can almost blend in with certain models of metal ceiling lights or pendant lights when covered in black. Most wall lights with a polyester shadeare used to provide general lighting over a few square metres.
Velvet: The ultimate retro vintage material in the Gatsby style, velvet can also be used for a wall light. It is a fabric that exudes great elegance, with a subtle charm. We like to decorate it with gold bands and subtle patterns around the wall lights.
Natural fibres
Linen: Want a Nordic-style lamp? Linen is often accompanied by fabulous tassels hanging from the bottom of the wall light's shade. It can take the form of a semi-circle, a circle, or even a bedside lamp mounted on the wall with an aluminium structure, for example. Cotton: The base of most fabric lamps is, of course, cotton. Featuring a soft and light look, you can opt for models with finely integrated ribbon on the structure of your wall light to decorate it, or prefer a minimalist white style, fitted with an LED bulb to decorate the bedroom, for example. A child's bedroom is the ideal place to mount a cotton wall light, with its softness and silky look.
What style for my fabric wall light?
Whether you want to reproduce the industrial, Scandinavian or modern style, the designer fabric wall light can be fitted in any room of the house and thus enhance the desired atmosphere. The notion of style will also depend on the shape you choose for your walls. You can decide to buy a fixed wall light, like a spotlight, which projects its light intensity onto a specific spot, or adjustable models with an articulated arm to direct the light as you wish in the bedroom, for example.
How do I take care of my fabric lights?
Unlike metal or wooden models, for example, you will need to avoid all cleaning products. The fabric may contain fibres that permanently absorb materials, a bit like blotting paper that permanently absorbs whatever comes into contact with it.
