The designer spotlight: Original and trendy!

Among all the lighting fixtures that stand out for their modern aesthetic, recessed spotlights perfectly reflect this trend! We have seen them enter our homes more and more in recent years, to highlight all types of interior or exterior decoration.

Whether they are recessed in the floor, ceiling, or floor as light panels but also within a staircase, LED spotlights stand out for their great versatility. They can create a personalized atmosphere according to your needs and the type of decor you have at home. Whether you have a Scandinavian, industrial, or Mediterranean style living room, you will be able to find LED lighting spotlights that reveal and amplify the design within your interior, but also your exterior, as we will talk about in this article.

Which designer spotlight depending on the room

If you want to install designer spotlights in your bathroom for example, first make sure to choose waterproof models, with an IP65 rating. That said, this rule is the same for outdoor lighting, as well as all the lamps that are fixed in damp places!

For a bathroom, we recommend, for example, track spotlights, because they allow, depending on the size of the mirror, to change the lighting zone to focus the light flow on a specific spotlight. Same for a kitchen if you want to light the worktop or the cooktop for example. That is the advantage of track models.

For a large living room such as a loft or a living room, but also as outdoor lighting to highlight a conservatory, fixed spotlights, spaced every two or 3 meters, to diffuse a powerful light just enough while allowing low consumption due to LED technology can perfectly do the trick. It is up to you to see what you need in terms of lighting quantity, so that each light beam does not blind you.

Each ceiling spotlight you choose may be with or without a directional shade, Depending on the desired level of lighting.

Spotlights with a directional shade are also very trendy. Because they allow you to project the light source on a specific space, such as a dining table or a reading corner, all in a warm atmosphere depending on the material chosen. This is why you should harmonize the type of material with the surrounding atmosphere of your decor.

For a room furnished with a pendant light and a metal ceiling light, but also a metal TV stand, the pretty little spotlights scattered in a similar material are excellent ways to harmonize together.

For solid wood Scandinavian atmospheres, you will have understood that a spotlight of the same kind will be preferable to accentuate the design.

Which designer spotlight for the outdoors?

A row of stationary mini wall spotlights or track lighting are good options. All to create efficient light panels at height. You will thus be able to benefit from a fairly wide diffusion angle for an outdoor room, when you take an aperitif with your loved ones for example.

For the outdoors, you should also check the waterproofing of your light bulbs just like for the bathroom wall light, or the spotlight if that is what you choose as an option. To light an interior or exterior room, recessed lighting fixtures such as designer spotlights do not lack in their efficiency and their size to general lighting ratio allows them to suit almost all families!

The great advantage of designer spotlights is their diversity. You can find them in round form or with a slight natural wood shade, to create a harmonious and authentic atmosphere!

We also offer among our in-stock collection, models in matte black metal or frosted white, depending on the type of atmosphere (Nordic or industrial) that you would like to reveal!

Do I need a transformer?

In general, a transformer will be necessary for a low-voltage LED spotlight around 12V, and if your electrical supply is 220V, that is the standard voltage in France, so the transformer will be essential!

For a halogen spotlight, you will need an electronic or ferromagnetic transformer to regulate the attention and protect the light bulb.

Overall, the necessity of the spotlight to have a transformer or not will depend on its style, the operating voltage, and the electrical supply of your home, so do not hesitate to ask advice from an electrician!
