LED ceiling lights: Multiple benefits for your home!
How can you combine low energy consumption with optimal quality lighting for your home? You probably already know the answer. LED ceiling lights consume up to 90% less electricity than a traditional incandescent bulb, and light bulbs with light-emitting diodes have a long lifespan. They can last up to 50 times longer than their counterparts. The only less advantageous point that some find is that LED lights diffuse their light intensity less quickly than other types of bulbs, but that is not a credible argument! Given all the benefits offered by this technology, a few minutes of patience are well worth it. Also, you have no need to worry about changing bulbs, because this one is both very long-lasting and directly integrated into the structure of the lamp!
One last point we must mention, and not least, is the low-energy lighting of this type of bulb, which is the light-emitting diode. A good gesture for the environment, offering the opportunity to no longer buy or almost no more bulbs! Indeed, we are talking about a lifespan of up to 25 years, for an average lighting time of about 4 hours and 30 minutes per day.
How to choose your LED ceiling light?
The advantage of the LED lighting ceiling lights we have in stock is also their great versatility in terms of designs and shapes. The fact that the bulb is directly integrated into the structure in metal, wood, plastic, or even glass of the ceiling light offers varied shapes. You can opt for a square ceiling lamp, a semi-rounded bell, round, or a rectangular panel for the most classic models. Or choose bolder and more modern options such as multi-bulb recessed spotlights, or in the shape of a flower or a straight shape, for example. The size of the room will be just as important in the choice of a recessed ceiling light.
The smaller a room is, that is, below 15 square meters, the more the diameter of the LED light must remain restricted, that is, below 45 centimeters. From 15 to 20 square meters, up to 50 centimeters in diameter in total, and beyond 20 square meters, a recessed chandelier of more than 50 centimeters in diameter is preferable to create a light flow throughout the room
The most common in homes are undoubtedly the round ceiling lights with LED technology. They create a clean and uniform lighting atmosphere, in neutral white. It is a relevant choice to illuminate a hallway, a bedroom, or a kitchen. Whether you want direct or semi-indirect lighting that reflects off the wall before diffusing into the room, the choices are very vast in terms of these round lighting models.
Square and rectangular LED ceiling lights are also often prized for their contemporary and discreet appearance. A good choice for a bathroom or a workspace, because their flat panel diffuses a uniform and functional light throughout the room. However, they can be designed in more stylish and decorative materials, such as wood or brass.
Cloud ceiling lights are less common than other styles of white or yellow LED lights, but their floating, irregular, and playful appearance makes them ideal for decorating a child's bedroom or a playroom.
Modular LED ceiling lights are another very modern choice offering a great possibility of customization. Composed of discs, cubes, nested circles, or lines, all with LED technology, they give the possibility to create varied shapes according to your desires, both in a living room or a dining room.
You also have the possibility to opt for a cube ceiling light model with an integrated light-emitting diode. Very often in wood, but also in wood-effect plastic, these elegant ceiling lights fit very well into a contemporary interior. They tend to offer a focal lighting due to their structure with vertical spotlights, which makes them all the more beautiful to fix to the ceiling in a living room or a small living area.
Do not hesitate to play with colors either! All the models of recessed lights that we offer for purchase on our online store can be even more enhanced if you opt for matte black aluminum with a gold interior, for example, in a living room or a living area. There is also a wide variety of color options, such as reddish wood essences, browns such as ash or aged pine. The beautiful contrast that this offers with LED lighting is impressive!
What power for an LED ceiling light?
The number of watts is also an essential parameter when choosing a recessed floor lamp. Depending on the size of the room, we will favor a more or less important wattage, in certain commonly accepted proportions. We first talk about lumens (lm). This unit of measurement calculates the luminous flux. The more lumens a bulb contains, the larger the illuminated area.
In summary:
-
Lumens (lm) = Total of the luminous intensity produced.
-
Lux (lx) = Quantity of light received on a specific surface (luminous intensity in a place).
You still do not understand the nuance between these two units of measurement of lighting? To simplify the situation, here is an example: You know, that feeling where the LED light is so strong that it blinds you when you approach it, but at the same time, on the desk next to it, it is difficult to read a book? This means that the lamp emits a lot of light (a lot of lumens), but this light is not well distributed on the surface where it is needed (lack of lux). The light is too concentrated in one place, leaving other areas under-lit, even if the lamp itself is very powerful.
Finally, we will also talk about kelvin (k). The number of kelvin will determine the color temperature of the light beam. We often talk about white led (cold light) or yellow led (warm light). The first is adapted for functional lighting and work environments, while the second is ideal in a friendly and relaxed setting, in the evening. The more kelvin a lamp has (between 5,000 and 6,000 k), the more the general lighting will be cold and therefore emit a white light. The lower the number of kelvin in this bulb (about 3,000), the more the light will be yellow and therefore warm. It is therefore another very important measure to take into account.
Brighten up your living room with the right ceiling light!
Since the living room is a space for relaxation and unwinding, opt for a recessed ceiling light with semi-direct lighting. The light-emitting diode bulb must contain a power of about 40 watts (4,000 lumens) and about 350 lux. Also, bring a warm atmosphere with a temperature ranging between 3,000 and 3,500 kelvin. Do not hesitate to combine your designer ceiling lights with or without a lampshade, in wood, lacquered metal, or glass with beautiful LED wall sconces to enhance your interior!
A ceiling light for the bedroom
In the choice of a recessed ceiling light for a bedroom, we will generally favor a 3-watt LED type bulb, with a temperature of about 3,000 kelvin. For a child's bedroom, especially if they do their homework there, opt for a color temperature on your child's bedroom LED ceiling light up to 6,000 k. In that case, remember to fix an anti-glare filter. We also recommend opting for one of our ceiling lights with an integrated dimmer, for more versatility in the choice of atmospheres.
Dining room ceiling lights
To install a recessed LED floor lamp in your dining room, opt for a temperature of about 5,000 kelvin, as well as a bulb power of 40 watts (4,000 lumens).
A bathroom ceiling light
In the context of a bathroom, we prioritize focal lighting on the mirror, with direct light. We therefore favor a recessed spotlight whose bulb contains little lux, but more lumens (about 1,000) and about 5,000 kelvin. An LED panel is also a good option if your mirror is large enough, or if you want to add a greater touch of brightness to the bathroom.
For useful and functional rooms like the garage, we are not especially looking for a designer ceiling light. A power of about 40 watts is necessary to diffuse a full-power luminance, of the projector or floor lamp type. A square or rectangular ceiling light is ideal.
Why choose our LED ceiling lights?
In our online store, we offer a wide range of outdoor ceiling lights, but also indoor ones for all tastes. Some are delivered and designed with dimmers, while others are specialized for different types of rooms, with a more or less restricted number of lumens and kelvin depending on whether you want to fix them to the ceiling of a bedroom or a living room, for example. We offer all colors and all designs of wall lamps, and not just LED ceiling lights! Our wall sconces are worth a visit, as are our pendant lights, our recessed spotlights, our chandeliers, and our table lamps. These styles are also, for the most part, in LED technology.
