The modern wall light: A fusion of art deco and technology
What do we really mean by a modern wall light? Some may think of the ease of installing the lamp on the wall. Can a modern LED bulb be fitted into an old wall light?
If your old light fixture has a socket with enough space to screw in a bulb, then it is very likely that you can do so and thus considerably increase the lighting duration. Check the size of the wall light's base to see if an E14 or E27 model would fit. Most modern wall light models include integrated bulbs that are not unscrewable, and therefore replaceable. The definite advantage of recent LED wall lights is that you can buy the all-in-one model, ready to use, already including one or more LED or compact fluorescent bulbs. You will simply need to install it on the chosen wall.
Can I install the modern wall light in every room?
Generally, when a new style of designer wall light hits the stores and online shops like ours, people tend to install them on the living room - dining room wall. But there are a multitude of decorative and highly effective models to illuminate your interior, which you can also install in your bathroom or hallway. Overall, all rooms in the house can have a pendant light or a wall light base installed.
The particularity of the wall light, and especially contemporary models, is that they serve as accent lighting to project their light flow onto a specific area, like a mini floor lamp would. This could be a corner of the living room, a decorative painting, the bathroom mirror, or even the headboard of a bedroom. You should therefore keep this in mind when you decide to buy your new interior lamps.
A particularity for any bathroom wall light!
For bathroom lighting, the IP44 protection rating is the minimum required to protect the bulb and your wall light from water splashes and moisture. Consult a professional electrician to find out which standard is best suited to your location. Then, IP65 is mandatory for wall lights and recessed spotlights in areas closest to water sources in a bathroom, but also for outdoor wall lights exposed to the elements.
Why have a modern style wall light at home?
It can then have a functional purpose, by emitting a large number of lumens to improve concentration and visual comfort, in a specific area. We are then thinking of setting up a desk for working, or a reading nook. Secondly, designer wall lights can have a purely decorative function, in addition to projecting beautiful beams of soft light. This is what is expected from living room models, for example, or dining room models that create a beautiful warm atmosphere around the table.
